After years of tug-of-war between companies and employees over remote work, the share of job postings offering remote work are once again on the rise—especially for more senior positions, reports Andy Medici of The Playbook.
TRENDS: While the overall share of remote job postings peaked in the middle of 2022 and were on the downswing for months, it began to rise again toward the end of 2023 and into 2024, according to a study of 1 million job postings over the past two years by Henley Wing Chiu, a writer and researcher at hiring trend website Bloomberry. Already, jobs listed as remote have grown 10% from a year ago and are up 31% over six months ago, although they are not yet back to mid-2022 levels.
