More Bartell Drugs to shutter amid Rite Aid’s bankruptcy
November 3, 2023

Three more Bartell Drugs locations are scheduled to close — including a Kirkland store that opened two years ago — and more may be on the chopping block as the bankruptcy of Bartell’s beleaguered owner, Rite Aid, picks up steam.

The Bartell Drugs in Seattle’s Roosevelt Square, at 12th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 65th Street, will shut its doors Nov. 27, Rite Aid confirmed Friday.

The Bartell on Southeast Kent-Kangley Road, in Kent, will close Nov. 19, and the Kirkland Bartell, on Central Way, which opened in November 2021, will close Nov. 27, according to store employees at both locations. A request Friday evening for confirmation from Rite Aid had not received a response by Saturday morning.
